Q-MAC Wins
National Export Award.
At a major industry ceremony in Melbourne, Q-MAC
Electronics gained top honours at the prestigious Australian Export
Awards
Prime Minister John Howard was special guest of
honour at the Australian Export Awards, where Q-MAC took out the
Commonwealth Bank Small to Medium Manufacturers Exporter of the Year
Award.
With 96 per cent of the company’s
revenue derived from export markets, all Q-MAC staff are involved in
the export market. The company exports to over 55 countries, with end
users in over 75 countries – including Antarctica – and has recently
opened an international subsidiary company in the UK. Q-MAC became
a 2002 Australian Export Award finalist by first winning their category
of the Western Australian Industry and Export Awards.
Trade Minister Mark Vaile (Picture Right)
presented the Commonwealth Bank Small to Medium Manufacturer Exporter
of the Year Award to Mr Joe Mihic (Picture Centre), Director of
Marketing at Q-MAC Electronics.

Mr Vaile said winning an export award had been
extra tough this year as a record 448 entries had been received at the
preceding individual state and territory awards.
“A great number of the entrants – 112 – came
from regional areas,” Mr Vaile said. “The winners of these awards are
community leaders. As exporters they are part of a $154 billion
industry that contributes to one in five jobs throughout Australia.”
Gary Roach, (Picture Left) the Bank's
General Manager, Transaction and Finance Products said that Q-MAC has
taken a great Australian idea and successfully commercialised it.
The 39th Australian Export Awards saw
a record 72 national finalists vying for 10 category accolades.
Presented by Austrade and the Australian Chamber
of Commerce and Industry, the Australian Export Awards are acknowledged
as Australia’s most prestigious industry awards for excellence in
exporting.

results are exceeding expectations.

Ultra
light weight Manpack sold for UN peacekeeping forces

Q-MAC Electronics has supplied the UN
Procurement Division with further requirement of HF-90 Frequency
Hopping, High Frequency (HF) Radio Systems. The most recent requirement
included provision of around 60 Radio System Packages which can be
assembled in to Manpacks, Base Stations or Vehicle packages depending
on the duty requirements of UN Peacekeeping Forces.
The use of SSB-hopping with a selective calling facility was preferred
to a digital HF hopper using automatic link establishment (ALE),
because it requires less battery power and is much more discreet from a
signal-intercept standpoint.
Since commencement of production, Q-MAC has delivered it's HF products
to over 80 Countries serving armies, police, border security, NGO's,
forestry, mining, fisheries, conservation, emergency services and many
other governmental agencies.
